dental health awareness program

Prior to establishing Kindy Groove in 1998, I worked as the Dental Nurse for the Preschool Dental Programme in Darebin, Whitlesea & Nillumbik. The service was responsible for dental health education and dental screenings for 0 - 5 yr olds.

In recent years, the government has withdrawn the funding for councils to continue running this programme; so when a childcare centre mentioned to me that they were seeking someone to speak to the children about dental health, I immediately offered to do it.

Dental disease remains the most common preventable disease in children so there is obviously still a need for public education to parents and to young children.

The Kindy Groove Dental Health Awareness Programme is a fun, interactive introduction to dental health awareness for 3 - 4 yr.olds at Kinders and childcare centres.

Our Dental Health Awareness Programme is recommended for parent information talks that can be combined with activities for the children at playgroups.
